Keio Institute of East Asian Studies - Center for Contemporary Chinese Studies

Introduction

In 2007 the East Asia Institute at Keio University and the National Institute for the Humanities of the Inter-University Research Institute Corporation (NIHU) jointly established the Center for Contemporary Chinese Studies. As part of the Contemporary China Area Studies Project at the National Institute for the Humanities, the Center is one of the six such centers established throughout Japan. The Center consists of approximately 50 researchers, and is a leading research institute in the field of contemporary Chinese studies with its main focus on political governance in China.
